Thumbs up Then bring it

5pm
TD- Gill
Random draw doubles.
Acepot= It's complicated, but it will be somewhere between 100-250 bones.

It's $6 to play. $1 pot, $1 "club", $4 payout. When the pot empties, it will go $2 pot, $1 "club", $3 payout, until a decent pot is raised. TD discretion.
What the hell is "club"?
"Club" means CTP, LP, etc. It also means kicking some money to the Lakewood Open (although it's earlier this year, so less money raised), as well as money going to the Lakewood Disc Golf Club for bench repair, signage, hookers, and general maintenance.
Let the gratuitous emoticons ring...

The benches are fine. I say spend the money on some better whores.
Maybe bus in some high class trim from Federal Way.
White Center Wanda is getting a little skeezy for the CTPBJ, nobody wants to win right now.

Results of very mellow conditions from the first Lakewood Thurs Dubs of the year are as follows:

Jared Job/Johnny Blaze -10
Bjorn/Tuffi -9
Gill/Chuck and Getty/Ming -8
John Pinney/Charles -7
Rahn/Tim -3
Eric/Lee -2
Marc V./Sean ??

Good turnout with some decent scores. Bjorn extended his run of bringing home money from each of the Fenwick, White River, and now Lakewood doubles events this week. Ace pot stands at $162. Come on out and get some next week - 5pm tee time.

In ridiculously rainy and awful weather, 2 triples teams attempted to manage a round of Thursday "doubles". A crack at $172 ace pot was initially decent incentive, but damn, we were just dumb.

1. Brian Carter, Tuffi, and Bjorn (-10)
2. Danial, Cliff, and Gill (-6)

As said, pots now at $172 - hopefully the weather will be a little more conducive to decent golf.

Indeed, 20 folks came out to enjoy fantastic conditions and shoot a bunch of deuces.

Final scores of the top half were:

Getty/Gill -13
Ming/Tony -10 (won in playoff)
Salmon/ J. Pinney -10
Danny G/Mark V. -9
Tuffi/Casey -8

Ace pot should be over $200 next week as it currently stands at $192.

Come and git some...

Great turnout on Thursday with 28 folks. Ties for 1st and 3rd resulted in a couple of playoff holes, the first being a new standard - the Cool Shoez hole from next to the CS plaque down to the basket of 13, with everything between the paths being OB. It's essentially an island hole - fantastic. Anyway, results were:

T-1 -11 Ming/Peter (won with a 40ft birdie putt)
T-1 -11 Bjorn/Tim
T-3 -7 Matt/Brent (won on 3rd playoff hole)
T-3 -7 Trevor/Cliff

Payout went to 4 teams of 14. Ace pot now stands at $220 although it was almost snagged by Theresa who banged the top of 1.

I'm out next week to play the Dogwood Crosstown in Raleigh - hopefully someone will step up to run dubs next Thursday... Bueller?

I haven't posted anything on this string for a while - people have played, people have won blah blah blah.

Interesting to note though, that the Thursday doubles ace pot has reached $300 bones, on the nose.

Come on out and take a crack at it. Same time, 5pm or shortly thereafter. The weather is supposed to clear in time for us to be basking in the sun. Next week we'll probably push it back to 5.30 to help out those workin' folks.

See you out there!

Well that didn't take long. John Money hit the ace on Hole 1 yesterday evening a couple hours after Tuffi aced it during warm ups. John cleared out the $319 pot though, so it's now time to build it back up. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. And yes, seems pretty lame to quote your own post buuut, screw it.

Results of the doubles (19 out) were:

1) Bjorn/Gill -13
2) Tuffi/Ming -10
3) Andy F./Getty -9
4) Salmon/Rob -8 and Trevor/Brian C. -8
6) Irvinator (cali) -5
7) John P/DJ -5
8) Mitch/Terry +1
(no card submitted for final two groups)

I may put some "seed" money in there next week just to help the pot get larger. Come on out and clear it again folks.

J Money representing!

I can't wait to see the evolution of his game once he stops throwing bosses and picks up a few more Wasps... he's on a near-vertical learning curve at the moment, getting better with every torso-twist.

He put a drive behind 6's basket the other day, like the long arm of the law.

Results of yesterdays doubles on a pretty windy course:

T-1 Bjorn/Geoff -11 (won in playoff)
Garrett/Gill -11
T-3 Wayne/Shane -10 (won in playoff)
Zeigler/Ryan -10
T-5 Ming/Brian -9
Trevor (Cali) -8
T-7 Matt/Kevin -8
Ian/Chuck -8
Doug/Andy -8
10 Matt R./Mark V. -6
11 Tuffi/James -4
12 Rob/John P -3
13 Ray/Don -2

Ace pot slowly but surely will get built back up - $25 at present. Come on out next week; here's to hoping that the spring type weather will stick around. Next week is my final week before packing up and moving on to NC - thanks to Trevor, Chuck, and Rahn who have all offered to carry the torch and keep dubs running.

Two final notes:
I better stick with my word and throw in that seed money - $25 extra is in the ace pot so we're looking at $50 at present. Also, I was able to push back the start time a smidge yesterday so next week will be 5.30pm start time. Trying to give the workin' folks a little break.

Another wacky, windy day at Lakewood today with one team running away with it. Congrats to Mike Werth and Bob for a tight -12 including Mike's skip ace on 18 in the island position. There was a 3-way playoff for 2nd with Getty and Shane Egeland coming out on top over Ming/John P and Matt Gill/?. This was Gill's last appearance at Lakewood doubles as he'll be Carolina-bound Tuesday. Getty took posession of his #2 bagtag, so y'all know where to find it.

1. Mike Werth/Bob -12
2. Getty/Shane Egeland (won playoff) -9
3. Ming/John P -9
4. Matt Gill/ ? -9
5. Bjorn Pinney (Cali) -8
6. Tuffi/Bob -7
Jarrod/Ray -7
Brian Clark/Andy -7
9. Wayne/Trace -6
Aaron/Troy -6
Joe/Garrett -6
Edge/Lee -6
13. Matt W/Ervinator -5
14. Brian/Doug W -4
15. Kevin P/Tim M -3

I've had my name mixed up a few times over the years. I.E. Brain, Biran etc. but I'm not too sure how one comes up with Bejan out of Brian. Then again Andy thought my name was Matt all day till the end of the tournament so go figure!

Brian, fixed it. I still have the cards and it still looks like someone wrote Bejan.

I was playing with Speed Racer Don - good guy. He kept bangin out the puts making my life easy. Indeed, it was my last day suckas. So long.

Trevor, CHuck, and Rahn have all offered to step up and run Thur dubs. Brian Haze (who happens to have the #1 bag tag) has the notebook for Seatac 4th Sunday Ace Pot (Grossman running) and the current Lakewood Thur dubs records and cash (thanks for dealing with that).

I had the pleasure of playing some good final rounds with some of the Lakewood crew over the past couple days - Getty "The Legend" Freeman, Tuffi "Tuffi" Dolan, Bjorn "I missed roll call three times" Pinney, Brent "Old Faithful" Smith, and others. Y'all will be missed. If anyone is headed down North Cackalacky way, give a holla - my house is a mile from a course. See you suckas as Withrop...

(as an aside, Bjorn shot an unconscious -13 at Lakewood yesterday. Helluva round to watch - almost was a -15 with barely missed birds on 14 and 18. Sweet).

Cheers!

Sad to see you go, Gill, but best wishes for your new life in NC. Gotta admit, I'm a little envious, as almost all of NC seems to have strong, active DG scenes going on with sweet courses everywhere. What part are you going to?
