Snakey way to go about that simple point you were trying to pass along..

I've been getting questions and on a daily basis about Sekani and the city cup. Jeff told Bob that it would not be possible to have it by his tourney date. Thanks Bob. I appreciate the phone calls. After the third one I got I put this pleasant thread up. You are afraid the money isn't going to the course? Send it to the parks foundation.. There is a bank account. If it were just $80 than who cares right????? Wait, it only goes one way? It's only $80 but we don't trust you with it... When Jeff originally asked for the money he asked for it to be put in his wife's account. We have 2 pallet's of concrete. a stack of lumber and we might start stealing money real fast. Cause this is going to make us rich. Like selling $750 worth of raffle tickets at a tournament and donating $300 to the tourney payout while saying it's to raise money for the tournament (whispering "sort of")

Default Letter of the Law

By now you are all getting a pretty clear understanding that the SDGA is run by the Letter of the Law. When obscurities occur, you can almost always count on sorting it out by looking at the official binding agreements, guidelines or rules that are at the core of the issue.

In this case the original obscurity posted in this thread was:

Will the SDGA pay up?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The SDGA promised that club members who signed up for the SDGA and choose to move their memberships to Disc Golf Uprising could do so before the vote. A number of golfers did so. The SDGA promised to make payment in March of this year. Several requests have been made. No answers have been received or checks and we are a tad past March.

The binding agreement as stated in the SDGA Initiative approved by the members under Article B was:

3. Once the DGU has an organization specific bank account the monies raised prior to this agreement for Camp Sekani, held by the SDGA, will be transferred to the DGU.

4. Any 2012 SDGA members who wish to get their membership fee returned in order to support the DGU may do so prior to exercising their SDGA voting rights.

The shakedown:

The DGU supplied the SDGA with a list of 27 people that wanted their membership money back in order to support the DGU. 23 of these people voted in the 2012 SDGA elections and thereby voided their opportunity to receive their money back as explained in Article B Section 4. This left 4 people eligible to have their SDGA membership dues transfered to the DGU which would amount to $80.

The transfer is not possible until the DGU abides by Article B Section 3. The SDGA would be missappropriating the members funds if they wrote a check to Jeff's wife, the parks foundation or any other entity other than the DGU organization specific bank account.

It's all pretty simple and clear if you look at it without bias and paranoia.

WRITE THE CHECK TO DGU!!! If there is no account than the check will be not be cashed at all. Write the check and watch your account with-in 3-5 (a day or two in the mail) days it will be deposited. I like how everyone is pretending that there is no DGU account. Non-profit status maybe only be applied for if that entity has a bank account. One or 2 people think that there is no account and everybody else buys the BS. Paranoia is someone (Jeff) who has been relentless building disc golf for the last 3 years is going to all of the sudden rip us off for $100.

Hold the phones. When this agreement was reached. Simply sending your vote in did not mean that your money went to the SDGA. I KNOW FOR A FACT that Tom and Suzie Walker sent their vote in as soon as they got it, about 10 days before this agreement. When they learned they could transfer their money to the new club building the new disc golf course out in the valley closest to them they choose to. They called Bob and told him they wanted their money changed DGU. This agreement wasn't in place until well after ballots had been sent out. People that wanted to change their money to the new club WERE allowed to AS LONG AS THEY DID IT BEFORE THE ELECTION. Time to double check those numbers..

Ballots were sent out 4 weeks before the election. 4 days before the election it was established that the new club could actually exist. So anyone who had sent in their vote at that time was actually locked in to being an SDGA member? Not the what was agreed. The agreement was anyone that wanted to change from the SDGA would be allowed to before the election.

DITTO, (copy that rubber duck. . . For those too young to know what a ditto is.) Willing to help with course management, work parties (when I'm not working), and play any league (?) Doubles (?) or tourney I can for either club when available. Throwing my money in to this mess is as bad as playing the lotto (stupid tax. . . )

So much potential, so little cooperation

Someday I'll see the point of joining a club (NIDGC)

Maybe there needs to be a meeting between DGU and the SDGA board members who apply. And maybe have it SOON! Jeff, you bring your list of people who should get refunds, and Jeremy, you bring your facts list. Bob and Joe, you bring the election records to match them up to those lists. Figure out which listed people didn't vote, or sent mail-in ballots prior to the election meeting, and are deserving of refunds, and which aren't. Nancy might want to be present so she can take notes in case their is a lawyer/lawsuit lurking in the background. Really Jeremy? Gordy could simply sit idly by with a check in case the two parties disagree to agree(backwards I know, but........yeah) on a specific amount. This probably won't happen any time soon. Since an SDGA board meeting in two months, then a member meeting after another month are non-expeditiously necessary before such agreements can take place. As a single member of the SDGA, can just say screw it and just do it without the full attendance of the clubs. Resolve this quick so the page can be turned and Sekani will be closer to completion. Find the common ground here people.

I really like the idea of meeting and figuring it out. Any ideas on when the SDGA board and said check book could meet up with DGU to square this off?

I really wish I was smart enough to figure out how Lyle and Stu posted the MJ munching popcorn bit, I feel it would be fitting here. I hate my lack of computer smarts sometimes - I'm an idiot!

Its not too hard, you just have to learn a little binary first and then type it out.

Here is the MJ gif binary: 11000110110111100011010011100011000000111000011011 10000000011101100101111011101110000101111000010111 01110000000000010011011001100001111111001011000001 11000011101110101110000110110000110110111110100110 1

And then you just put the [img] tags around it so the message board can read it. Simple.

It's really easier than that. Go to the image that you want to put on your post. Right click on the image and select Copy Image Location. Then click on Insert Image and Paste the Image Location in the dialog box. Done.
