Disc golf enthusiasts are invited to add a new event to their competition calendars for May 8, 2010!
Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation and CGCC Student Life are teaming up with Northern Wasco County Park & Recreation District, local businesses and community volunteers to host the first annual “Tree Top Classic Disc Golf Tournament”
Saturday, May 8, at Sorosis Park in The Dalles
“Tree Top Classic” is a joint fundraiser for Northern Wasco County Parks and Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation scholarships.
The tourney will take place on the popular, 18-hole “Tree Top Disc Golf Course” established at Sorosis Park by the Park District. With stations located under a canopy of ponderosa pine trees, the course is considered one of the most challenging venues for disc golf players in the Pacific Northwest.
Competition levels and entry fees for the Tree Top Classic are:
Beginners $20; Intermediate, $25; and Expert, $30. Students enrolled at Columbia Gorge Community College may play at any level for $12 (Thanks to the volunteer time put in by Student Council).
On-site registration is May 8 from 7 to 8:30 a.m.
*NOTE– T-shirts provided free to participants who register prior to May 7th. All others may purchase a T-shirt for an additional $6 and will be mailed. No guarantee of size availability.
There will be a qualifying round of play from 9 to 11 a.m. A nine-hole play-off round is from 1 to 2 p.m., featuring the top four contestants from each division.
Awards will be given in each category in a ceremony commencing at 3 p.m.
Lunch will be available to purchase on site from 11-1pm provided by Dave Lutgens, Class Act Catering and Cafe.
