Medium Wizards Now Illegal... - DG Equipment

So apparently the PDGA has now made Medium Wizards (not the Wizard itself, just the plastic blend) illegal. Apparently they did not pass the flexibility test after being 'tipped' off that they may possibly be too stiff.

My concern is I've felt a ton of KC Pro plastic that is far stiffer then any Medium plastic blend from Gateway. Those new 12x Firechickens are RIDICULOUSLY stiff.

Definitely took me by surprise, anyone else feel like chiming in on this?

Agreed. Some KC Aviars are so stiff it seems like they'll shatter on first tree impact.

I'm confused with this, first the plastic was ok to mold, now its not??

It was okay when they first started with it because I'm sure that Gateway only released to the PDGA discs that they knew would pass the flexibility rating test. After they were approved in that blend, they were unlikely to be tested again. This is the same reason that the G9i blend from Gateway is also been deemed too stiff to be legal.

Now they were PDGA approved and are not having their approval revoked but they are not allowed to manufacture them anymore until they meet approval again (either by adding a softening agent to the plastic or an entirely new blend that meets current criteria).

I don't know if that helped or added to the confusion

makes sense to me. production should meet those requirements of stiffness.

soooooo, if it isn't a floppy, rubber putter it is out? My Wizard is my driving putter (ppppfffftttttt, hahahahaha driving putter on an am that can hardly hit 350 with a destroyer, lol). It would be my driving putter because it is so stiff. it's a putter for crying out loud. what makes them think it is so dangerous??
