NIDGC Meetings for 2012

It looks like our first full club meeting for 2012 will be on Monday, February 13 at 6:30pm. It may be held at the Post Falls Library in one of their meeting rooms like we have done in the past or if we can't get it for that night we may try the Pizza Factory again or Capone's in Post Falls. As of now nominations are being accepted for all board positions. Topics on the agenda include but are not limited to:

I already have the itch to play more and better golf this year. Looking forward to getting things started for the year.

The NIDGC will be holding its first meeting of the year on Monday, February 13 at 6:30pm at the Post Falls Public Library. New membership sign ups will be taken and members can announce their desire to run for board positions. Bring your topic ideas but also keep in mind that the Library will close at 8pm that night as well so we can't ramble on forever.

The Board of the North Idaho Disc Golf Club met on Jan. 9 to discuss plans for the upcoming year. The first open membership meeting of 2012 has been scheduled for Monday Feb. 13, 2012. Meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in a meeting room at the Post Falls Public Library. We will open nominations for Club officers for the upcoming year, and discuss plans for weekly league, bag tags, Club discs, course improvements, a North Idaho Disc Golf Series, and other Club activities.
Memberships are expected to be the same as last year - $20. You can renew/join ahead of time by contacting any Club Officer (Ben Squires, Scott Wardian, Jack Wardian, or Kris Cummings), or stopping in at Rapid Fire Plastics. Memberships can also be purchase at the meeting if you wish. Any member, or member-to-be, who would be willing to serve as a Club officer can place their name in nomination at the meeting.

Monday February 13, 2012

Attendance – 8
Board Members – 3 – President Ben Squires, Vice President Scott Wardian, Treasurer Jack Wardian
Absent Board Members – 1 – Secretary Kris Cummings – Scott Wardian filled in for treasurer taking notes

New Business:

Item #1 - Ben Squires inquired about creating a new board member position for a Public Relations Director stating Geoff Carr is interested in this position.

The NIDGC board decided that this could be a possibility but that it should be opened to a full club vote for approval first.
Nominations for this position will be opened to any interested current NIDGC member and if club members vote to allow this new position it will be voted on to be filled at the next club meeting along with the rest of the current board positions.

Item #2 – North Idaho Disc Golf Series

Schedule as Follows: NIDGS#1 – Corbin Park Open – Nightmare Layout –April 21 TD Stuart Autrey
NIDGS#2 – Farragut (Spring Fling?) – DBD & NS – May 12 TD Tom Walker
NIDGS#3 – Cherry Hill – format TBD – June 30 or July 7 TD Ben Squires/Kris Cummings?
NIDGS#4 – Farragut Open – format TBD – August 11? TD Jack Wardian
Fees: Open $25 Advanced $20 Intermediate $15
$1 per player to NIDGC $1 per player to NIDGC insurance coverage $5 non-NIDGC member fee
$2 Ace Pot that will carry over to next event if not claimed
Advanced payout – Rapid Fire Plastics/NIDGC script vouchers
Intermediate payout NIDGC discs

Item #3 – Installation of tee pads at Cherry Hill DGC

Will start as soon as ground is thawed enough to begin work
Will use a combination of wood frames under rubber pads and crushed rock to make optimal level throwing surface

Item #4 – New website domain for North Idaho Disc Golf Club events

Due to inability to get in touch with current website designer/host Jeff Willis we will pursue new domain name and website altogether – current website is set to expire at end of 2012 anyway
Will include club schedule of events, forums, etc
We are looking for club members with internet website hosting and set up knowledge to assist

Item #5 – NIDGC Merchandise
We will order short sleeve technical fabric material for standard club shirts that will be ordered in identical color and style in bulk - collared shirts will be ordered by pre-order only.
The shirts will have the round NIDGC logo between the shoulder blades on the back and the NIDGC letter logo on the front and/or sleeve

All board member positions are open to ANY NIDGC member who is current as of the next club meeting
